TORONTO — Almost 20 years after launching one of the industry’s first vegetarian restaurants, Ruth Tal, founder of Fresh Restaurants, officially opened her newest location of Fresh on Toronto’s Front Street East.

The latest unit is clearly the company’s most expansive and luxurious location, featuring a chic botanical vibe right in the heart of Toronto’s historic St. Lawrence Market District.

The broad range of menu items, includes the eatery’s popular Dragon Fries, a veggie burger that tastes remarkably like meat and a wide selection of bowls, wraps, tacos, burgers and salads. Complementing the veggie-based menu items is an uber-creative lineup of classic craft cocktails served with a “fresh” twist, including the Julia Caesar, the wild Muskoka mule, grapefruit negroni, the northern lights old fashioned and more.

Tal opened her first Fresh restaurant location in 1999 on Bloor Street West, (at Spadina), years ahead of the burgeoning vegetarian-food movement. The Front Street location marks the company’s fifth location and features eat in, take-away and delivery options.
