TORONTO — Wholesale food buyers and food retail buyers in the food services industry were invited to meet local food producers at a ‘speed-dating’ event held yesterday by FreshSpoke. The event offered wholesale buyers the opportunity to sample a range of locally produced food products and build new supplier relationships with producers who sell their products in the FreshSpoke Marketplace.
FreshSpoke’s Fusion Event for Wholesale Food Buyers took place at Speducci Mercatto in Toronto, with all proceeds from the event going to the North York Harvest Food Bank.
“The goal of these events is to strengthen the relationships between buyers and producers here in Simcoe County,” says Marcia Woods, CEO and co-founder of FreshSpoke. “FreshSpoke is making it easier for producers to actually make money, while at the same time, making procurement faster and more reliable for restaurants, grocers and retailers.
