Friends of We Care’s May Gala Update

TORONTO — Spring is here, and with it comes the Friends of We Care Gala. Foodservice and hospitality insiders will gather May 2 at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont. to raise money to help children with disabilities attend Easter Seals summer camp.

A cheque for more than $1 million will be presented to Easter Seals Canada during the gala, which will be hosted by Breakfast Television’s Kevin Frankish along with Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons, Toronto Argonaut great. Singer-songwriter Diane Clemons will provide entertainment.

Members of the foodservice-and-hospitality industry will also be recognized for their significant contributions to the industry. Honours will be bestowed on Olymel (The Corporate Friends of We Care Award), Murray Webb (We Care Hall of Fame) and Kevin Frankish (The Gary Wright Humanitarian Award).

Since its inception, Friends of We Care has generated almost $20 million, providing more than 78,000 days at camp for children with disabilities.
