Frozen Yogurt Category Continues to Evolve and Grow

In response to Freshii CEO Matthew Corrin’s recent offer to help struggling froyo shop and juice bar franchisees, Amit Kleinberger, CEO of Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, has issued a statement disputing Corrin’s claim that the frozen yogurt industry is struggling.

“The frozen yogurt industry has seen continuous, year-over-year growth for the last 10 years and current trends show consumers are becoming increasingly more health conscious, while increasingly demanding tasteful flavours,” says Kleinberger. “This is especially true among millennials and generation Z, who value the customization self-serve frozen yogurt allows and the control it provides over flavours and toppings that suit their desires.”

At the end of the day, he says, “we love seeing the foodservice and hospitality industries grow, thrive, and flourish. We believe in competition. Competition makes us better, as there is no number-1 without a number-2. And to continue solidifying our position as the world’s largest self-serve frozen yogurt franchise, we remain focused on what we are known for, do best, and are passionate about: bringing smiles to our customers through our high quality, delicious frozen yogurt.”

Kleinberger says his company will continue its growth, with plans to open another 60 locations globally by the end of 2016.
