GLASGOW, Scotland — German Doner Kebab has announced it plans to open 100 new restaurants in Canada over the next ten years. These ambitious plans follow the successful launch of its first two restaurants in Ottawa and Surrey, B.C. last year.

“The landmark openings of our restaurants in Ottawa and Surrey have met our expectations and we are looking forward to forging ahead with our ambitious growth plans for Canada and North America,” says Nigel Belton, managing director for North America, German Doner Kebab.

The fast-casual brand now plans to open three more restaurants in Canada by the end of 2021, including a location in Downtown Toronto, which is scheduled to open in May. The brand is also now looking to engage with experienced multi-unit franchise partners in Montreal, Calgary and Ottawa as part of its growth plans for Canada.

“We now have big plans for Canada and are excited about embarking on our next phase of growth in 2021 and opening what will be a flagship site in Downtown Toronto,” says Belton.

The Scotland-based brand currently has 73 restaurants across the globe and is embarking on growth across the U.K., Sweden, North America and the Middle East, with more than 700 franchises already signed-up to its global growth strategy.
