TORONTO — Pub operator Chris Taylor died last Tuesday at the age of 37 after a battle with leukemia. He was a partner at Grace O’Malley’s Irish Pub and Restaurant on Merivale Road in Ottawa and Crazy Horse Stone Grill in Kanata, Ont., as well as at Grace O’Malley’s on Duncan Street in Toronto.

Taylor was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012; he found a stem-cell match last summer but passed away last week of pneumonia, which weakened his immune system. “His leadership and strength will live on through his fiancée, Michelle Martin, and the bar he helped build. Michelle, his family, friends and co-workers are all in our thoughts and hearts. Thank you for everything Chris, you will not be soon forgotten,” reads a post on Grace O’Malley’s Facebook page.

His funeral was held Saturday at Bathurst and Dundas Streets, followed by a private wake at Grace O’Malley’s in Toronto.
