TORONTO — Guy Fieri, host of Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, promises to shake things up as guest chef of this year’s Chef’s Challenge, The Ultimate Battle for a Cure. The annual fundraiser, in support of Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital, benefits the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute and Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre at the hospital.
Fieri will host the Dec. 1 event where celebrity chefs such as Lynn Crawford, Michael Smith, David Rocco and Chuck Hughes will team with amateur cooks who raise funds to compete in the culinary challenge. “This foodapalooza will rock the house while raising critical funds for breast and ovarian cancer research and education at Mount Sinai Hospital,” said Fieri.
Fieri will cook a five-course dinner during the fundraiser as he and his team attempt to oust last year’s winner, chef Mark McEwan. Amateur cooks who raise a minimum of $2,500 are invited to attend the event, which will be held at The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto
