VAUGHAN, Ont. — Recipe Unlimited is allegedly being held for ransom by the hackers responsible for a “malware outbreak” that’s been affecting several of the company’s restaurants since late last week, according to CBC News.
According to unnamed restaurant employees, a ransom note appeared on computer systems demanding payment in Bitcoin for the return of stolen data.
Statements from Recipe Unlimited deny that the company is being held for ransom as it performs regular system backups.
