Hawksworth Announces Sommelier

VANCOUVER — The management team at Vancouver’s Hawksworth Restaurant recently announced that Terry Threlfall will be the wine director and sommelier at the new restaurant slated to open this summer.

Threlfall most recently worked at the Michelin-starred London, U.K. resto Chez Bruce, and is the first Canadian sommelier to become a regular panellist for Decanter magazine and judge the Decanter World Wine Awards. He’s been the festival sommelier for the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival for 11 years running.

“It was a tough decision to leave London and the tremendous scope of opportunity my role there provided, but after 10 years away, I’m truly excited to be back in Canada to contribute to Vancouver’s own dynamic wine and food culture.”

Threlfall is in the midst of compiling an extensive wine list for the resto.
