HostMilano 2023, a preview of the future

The innovative solutions that will shape hospitality will all come together October 13 to 17 at the industry-leading fieraMilano Rho event in Italy.

Global hospitality is booming and the industry is using innovation to adapt its products and services.

New technologies include IoT, artificial intelligence, made-in-Italy design and processes that move from cooking to mixing and confectionery, including ice cream and coffee. It is a world that transcends national and industry boundaries to engage the “new” consumer who is demanding, informed, and concerned about sustainability and health — both his or her own and that of the planet.

That’s why getting involved this October at HostMilano, the leading international HoReCa trade fair, which returns for the 43rd time to Fiera Milano, is more important than ever.

The future of hospitality now hangs in the balance, a huge industry that The Business Research Company’s Food Service Equipment Market Report 2023 predicts will grow by more than 5.9 per cent (CAGR) from $34.74 billion to $36.80 billion globally in 2023. Considering the same compound growth rate, the value of global sales could reach $46.29 billion in 2027.

Now, however, more than ever, operators need to think about the direction hospitality will take in the future. And the future will come to life in the Fiera Milano pavilions, thanks to the presence of more than 1,400 companies (counting only those already registered) from 44 countries that will present their solutions in the name of sustainability and digital transformation. Companies from Germany, Spain, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, but also from the U.S. and, of course, Italy, with all the allure of its technology combined with design.

In a complex period where sectors are hybridizing, the formula that, over the years and ahead of its time, has decreed the success of HostMilano proves to be a winning one, because it makes it possible for a complete hospitality-industry overview to be obtained in five days and in one place. In fact, the event is divided into three macro-areas, which, in addition to the vertical insights, enhances the supply-chain affinities between specialized sectors: Professional Catering-Bakery, Pizza and Pasta; Coffee-Tea, Coffee Bar-Vending Machines; Ice Cream-Pastry; Furniture-Technology and Tableware.

At the International Coffee Show, which has always been an international reference point for the sector, there will be no shortage of Italian and foreign supply-chain stakeholders, spanning from the bean to the cup, including coffee machines, grinders and semi-finished products.

In addition to the exhibition itinerary, at Host 2023 innovation will be the main theme of the rich schedule made up of hundreds of events.

These include, Smart Label – Host Innovation Award, the award promoted by HostMilano and Fiera Milano in partnership with POLI.design and sponsored by ADI – Industrial Design Association The award, now in its fifth edition, highlights the products and solutions of exhibiting companies that stand out for functionality, technology, environmental sustainability, ethics or social implications in three categories: Smart Label for its characterizing innovative content; Innovation Smart Label for innovation that exceeds established trends; and Green Smart Label for eco-sustainability.

The schedule is constantly being updated and can already be found on the HostMilano website at host.fieramilano.it/en/eventi/topics1.html. The event offers workshops and seminars, cooking shows, discussions and engaging multi-sensory itineraries (thanks to HostMilano’s collaboration with Italian and foreign entities such as ANIMA, FCSI International, FIPE, APCI, SCA, FIC and POLI.design) and features great leaders in their field providing countless training possibilities.

The various partnerships activated with trade associations include excellent representation from Canada thanks to Restaurants Canada, BAC – Baking Association of Canada, CAMA-ACAD – Canadian Automatic Merchandising Association and CICC – Convenience Industry Council of Canada.

HostMilano will be held at fieramilano from October 13 to 17, 2023.
