How would you or your team answer this question?

Multiculturalism in Toronto is a strong point of pride.  It is reflected in the diversity of its restaurant offerings and the availability of almost any type of food, service and price point you could want.  With so many delivery options, almost anything is available under 30 minutes. Can you or a member of your team, answer this question?  You should.

The question to an owner, manager or team member of a restaurant, bar or pub is simply this: “why should I come to your place?”  If I can get to almost any experience at any price within minutes of a downtown location, why yours? If I can have any type of food delivered to me, why should I go out?

This is elevator speech time, this is 30 seconds with the CEO, this is branding 101.  This is why you started your business or joined this team. This is your point of differentiation or culture bragging moment. It should role off your tongue effortlessly but it often does not.  Often, I get “what a great question or because we have the best ‘insert burger, pizza, patio’”

With so much changing in business, it is critical to have a very engaging and specific answer to the question.  What is your true USP (Unique Selling Position)? What will excite the dining public? What is the item your team sells more than anyone else?  What will make people line up for hours just to take a picture and post it on Instagram? What is your company culture?

What would your answer be? What about a member of your team? Get that answer ready.
