IDDBA 2023 marks the first industry-specific show of the season. The show floor will have upwards of 2,000 booths from more than 700 exhibiting companies showcasing innovative solutions. “This year our What’s in Store Live centres on technology innovation,” says Whitney Atkins, VP of Marketing. “It’s a great opportunity for members to get their arms around all the innovation that is out there.”

The 20,000-sq.-ft. hub brings together chefs and merchandisers serving the dairy, deli, and bakery industries showcasing the latest industry solutions. The workshop stage will be offering entertainment and a full roster of speakers and informative workshops. “A lot of the talk will be around trending in and education reporting,” says Atkins. “Those are issues that our members said they would be looking for this year.”

Atkins says that like in years past, IDDBA will have guest speakers at the show that will “cover a wide variety of topics about our industries and beyond.”

The California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB) pavilion will offer a wealth of networking opportunities. This year it will be showcasing a variety of sections with an international spin. Visitors can sample product selections from Italy and Quebec, connect with trade commission representatives from Europe, check out the latest equipment and merchandising innovation, explore organic and natural product offerings, and get up close and personal with resources focused on helping small business owners.

The show will once again be hosting the Charcuterie Certification Exam. A new fun feature for 2023 will be a Cake’d competition for bakers and decorators. Atkin says that this will be the first time since 2019 that the show will be in full swing. “As the world has opened doors back up to international travel, we expect to break records this year. There will be a great mix of people from all facets of the industry.”
