MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Inform Brokerage hosted its first “Food For Thought” event in Mississauga, Ont. at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, bringing together a selection of manufacturers who showcased their products to industry influencers.

Vendors had the opportunity to meet with strategic buyers, while also demonstrating their unique products. Bianca Penuelas, Business Development and Accounts manager at Good Planet Foods, was one of the vendors on hand, promoting a gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan cheese that has gained traction in U.S. and Canadian markets.

“The demand for plant-based and dairy-free products has increased and, over the next four years heading into 2022, it’s supposed to increase by $3.5-billion dollars,” Penuelas says. “We started out in foodservice, which was very big. Because we have mozzarella, we attract a lot of pizza customers.”

Other vendors included companies such as Dare Food Limited, Gay Lea Foods and JD Sweid Foods. Inform’s Food For Thought event also featured a gourmet dinner and a cocktail venue.
