TORONTO — A taste of Italy has arrived on Canadian shores with news that a Lavazza Espression Café has opened in Toronto at 225 Queens Quay W.
A name in coffee since 1895, the developer of coffee and espresso products, which now has more than 300 café franchises across the world, has come to Canada as part of a partnership with Toronto’s Urban Dining Group Inc., which has acquired the rights to expand the upscale café concept across Canada.
Designed with custom artwork, high-end Italian furniture and bold colours, the restaurant also offers a fresh contemporary menu. “Lavazza Espression Café embraces its modern European decor and ambiance, while serving a robust variety of fresh made-on-site food and coffee selections,” reads a company statement of the offerings that include coffee, fresh-squeezed juice, gelato and pastries.
A second Canadian location is set to open at the new SickKids Centre for Research and Learning on Bay Street in October.
