TORONTO — Mutti, a fourth generation family-run company renowned for its line of tomato products, from whole peeled tomatoes to paste, has officially launched in Canada. Founded in 1899, Mutti began with the simple objective of producing a canned tomato as fresh in taste and texture as possible.
“We are delighted to introduce Mutti to Canada,” says Francesco Mutti, owner and CEO. “Our time-tested products deliver a wonderfully fresh flavour that Canadians are sure to love. We believe the tomato is incredibly versatile and look forward to seeing them enjoyed in Canadian kitchens from antipasto to dessert.”
Mutti works to obtain the best tomatoes for flavour and texture with studied best practices for consistent growth and production, including minimum processing. From selection of seeds and relationships with farmers, Mutti manages each step of its supply chain with meticulous standards and dedication.
All Mutti products are made from 100 per cent Italian tomatoes and are GMO-free. Their dedication to cultivating consistently flavourful tomatoes led the organization to create the coveted “Golden Tomato” award — a prize presented to the farmer with the best quality produce every harvest.
On the retail side, Mutti products are available at Loblaws, Fortinos, Sobeys and Real Canadian Superstores in Ontario; Overwaitea Foods, Thrifty Foods, Federated Co-op and Whole Foods in Western Canada; and Maxi in Quebec. For the foodservice industry, the line of tomato products will be distributed in Canada by Italpasta Limited.
