GLENDALE, Calif. — Ihop Restaurants is celebrating its fourth annual National Pancake Day in Canada today. Select locations will be serving a free short stack from opening until 10 p.m. In return, guests are encouraged to leave a donation of any denomination, all of which will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network.

“Ihop and our franchisees throughout Canada are honoured to partner with Children’s Miracle Network for National Pancake Day to help fight serious childhood illnesses,” says Daniel del Olmo, international president of DineEquity, Inc. — Ihop’s parent company. “Each and every year, we look forward to celebrating with our guests and fans and are amazed by their generosity. Every pancake served on Ihop National Pancake Day has a purpose, and every penny raised goes a long way in making a meaningful and lasting impact on kids and families in local communities.”

To date, the Ihop National Pancake Day campaign has raised $24 million for children’s health and wellness. All of the funds raised are donated to local communities to help provide immediate life-saving treatment and equipment for children.

In addition to offering free pancakes, some Ihop locations in Canada have been selling Miracle Balloons for $1 and $5 since the beginning of the month. Guests who purchase a balloon receive a $5 discount coupon that can be redeemed at their next visit to any Ihop restaurant location.

Although it is its fourth year in Canada, the Ihop National Pancake Day event has been a tradition in the U.S. for the past 12 years. Similar campaigns also take place in Mexico and the Philippines. Ihop expects to serve a record-breaking five million pancakes today.
