TORONTO — The first Jamie’s Italian restaurant in North America opened today at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre. The joint venture between Jamie Oliver and The King Street Food Company, which owns Toronto’s Buca and Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse, features a simple, fresh and authentic menu and warm, welcoming, atmosphere.
Since the opening of the first restaurant in 2008 in Oxford, England, Jamie’s Italian has grown to more than 60 restaurants worldwide, including Australia, Hong Kong, Brazil and Moscow.
The menu includes fresh pasta made in-house every day, a variety of bruschettas, made-to-order pizzas and antipasti planks of cured meats, cheeses and vegetables. It also offers a kids’ menu, with items such as chicken lollipops and cheesy pasta bake. The location features high ceilings, an open kitchen and a welcoming bar.
