LAKE FOREST, Calif. — The customers asked and Johnny Rockets answered, adding the former limited-time Houston burger to the 2010 menu.

Expected to roll out to all the chain’s restaurants — including those in Canada — by the spring, the patty is packed with mayo and Hot Rocket Fuel sauce sandwiched between pepper-jack cheese, wedge lettuce, ripe tomatoes and jalapeno peppers on a fresh bun.

“With the input of East Coast franchisee, Jason Sugarman and West Coast franchisee, Mary Khalighian, we have developed a fusion of fun ingredients to create the flavor profile for The Houston, which exemplifies what we do best at Johnny Rockets — provide cravable, quality food,” said Lee Sanders, CEO of the chain.

Also new in 2010 is the Oreo Peppermint Shake, created with Kraft Foodservice just in time for the holiday season and extended through the year. It’s filled with real Oreo cookie pieces, DaVinci Peppermint Paddy syrup and premium vanilla ice cream.
