LOISVILLE, KY. — Starting Aug. 5, KFC will begin testing a fast-casual concept in Louisville, Ky., called “KFC eleven,” reports the Calgary Herald.
The new concept will serve flatbreads with toppings, rice bowls, salads, side dishes (such as waffle fries, garlic mashed potatoes and coleslaw) and boneless pieces of its Original Recipe chicken. KFC eleven is a reference to the 11 herbs and spices used in the chain’s Original Recipe.
According to the paper, the new concept is a reflection of the challenges facing the quick-service market. The company is aiming to appeal to millennials and women. [Calgary Herald]
