VANCOUVER — Kitchen Table Restaurants is officially opening its newest project, Miantiao, inside the Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver on June 17.

Derived from the Mandarin word for “noodle,” Miantiao blends Italian and Chinese cuisines to offer a variety of culinary innovations, such as burrata, tajarin, merluzzo nero and aged whole duck.

Under the direction of general manager Hao-Yang Wang, the restaurant’s back-of-house team is led by Kitchen Table culinary director Alex Tung, executive chef Tret Jordan and chef de cuisine Justin Lee.

In terms of cocktails, Gianluigi Bosco designed a range of signature mixes, including Bamboolvardier, Kun-Mi-To, Five Spice Daiquiri and Sambuco Frizzante. Wine director David Steele created a program with a large range of wines, from bold old-fashioned flavours to local B.C. vineyards that all pair well with Miantiao’s menu items.

Designed in collaboration with Westbank Corp. and Zara Interior Design, Miantiao features glided archways, communal banquettes and hints of crimson, marble and gold.

In partnership with Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver, the Dine-and-Dream package offers a luxurious overnight accommodation and includes daily parking, early check-in, daily breakfast, dinner for two at Miantiao and a gift bag.
