VANCOUVER — Sommelier Terry Threlfall has been brought aboard at Vancouver’s La Pentola della Quercia as consulting wine director.
“I’m looking forward to expressing the ethos of La Pentola through a focus on Northern Italian wines that pair beautifully with the stunning food,” said Threlfall, who will also source B.C. wines that complement La Pentola’s locally sourced produce. “We’re having fun making this wine list unique, and we want this to be a premium dining experience in terms of wine service and food pairings.”
The sommelier intends to feature varietals such as Barola and Barbaresco from the Northwestern Piedmont region of Italy and varietals such as and Valpolicella from the Northeastern Veneto area, as well as some Okanagan bottles.
Threlfall’s résumé includes stints at West and Hawksworth Restaurant in Vancouver and at the Michelin-starred Chez Bruce in London, England.
