VANCOUVER — Ricardo Ferreira has signed on as the new GM of L’Abattoir in Vancouver’s Gastown neighbourhood.
Ferreira honed his skills abroad, where he was the maître d’ at Anthony’s restaurant in England. Back in Vancouver, he worked at the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa before becoming restaurant director at CinCin Restorante + Raw Bar and restaurant manager at Blue Water Cafe + Raw Bar. Most recently he was GM at the Opus Hotel’s La Pentola restaurant, where he was responsible for the food-and-beverage program.
In his new role as GM, Ferreira will oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, located in a 19th century building that once housed Vancouver’s first jail. L’Abattoir highlights the history of the place while offering a menu of French-inspired West Coast fare.
