BELOEIL, Que. — Le Coureur des Bois Bistro Culinaire has become to first restaurant in Quebec to win the Grand Award from Wine Spectator — a leading international wine magazine.

The restaurant will join an exclusive group of 91 establishments around the world and is only the fourth restaurant in Canada to ever receive the Grand Award — the magazine’s highest honour.

“We are extremely proud to receive this distinction; our biggest gratitude goes to our outstanding team at Le Coureur des Bois Bistro Culinaire. Their deep passion for wine and extraordinary table service are being recognized with this Grand Award,” says Mathieu Duguay, owner, Le Coureur des Bois Bistro Culinaire and president and CEO, Cogir Immobilier.

The Grand Award is given to restaurants that show “passionate devotion” to the quality of their wine programs. Their wine lists typically feature 1,000 or more selections. The awards ceremony will take place at the Wine Spectator’s New York Wine Experience Grand Award Banquet on Oct. 20.
