TORONTO: Big Rock Brewery and Oliver&Bonacini Restaurants launched Liberty Commons at Big Rock Brewery yesterday. The brewpub is a combination of comfort food and quality craft beers, located at the corner of Liberty St. and Atlantic Ave.

The project is driven by O&B corporate executive chef Anthony Walsh, district executive chef John Horne and newly appointed chef de cuisine Ryan Lister. Overseeing the brewing program at Liberty Commons are Big Rock brewmasters Connor K. Patrick and Dan Ellis.

“We want Liberty Commons to be a place for the neighbourhood to come together over knockout food and brews,”says Walsh. “Here, there’s a connection between food and beer that’s so much more than just a pint. From stocks and sauces to batters and brines, beer flows naturally throughout all aspects the restaurant.”

Liberty Commons will be serving lunch, dinner, late-night bites and weekend brunch (launching Feb. 18). Dishes include Big Rock Pilsner-Battered Haddock and Chips($17), Yorkshire Eggs Benny ($15), Cottage Pie ($20) and an impressive barbecue menu.

Liberty Commons will also feature eight Big Rock taps, including signature beers, seasonal offerings and plenty of rotating experimental brews made exclusively in-house. Guests can also enjoy beer-based cocktails such as the G&G Radler($8)and the Quintana RooMichelada($9).
