Liberty Entertainment Group Enters Grocery E-Commerce with Launch of Cibomarket.com

TORONTO — Liberty Entertainment Group (LEG) has launched its online ordering platform. Cibo Market is LEG’s first foray into grocery e-commerce and will provide Toronto with the same premium quality food and service LEG has offered from their Cibo Wine Bar locations for nearly a decade.

Cibomarket.com will offer exclusive quality products, previously only available to restaurants, directly to client’s homes with the added convenience of online ordering, no line-ups and speedy, contactless door-to-door delivery. The offering will include premium, restaurant-quality fresh fruits and vegetables, butchery and other pantry staples, as well as a selection of spirits and wines curated from the cellars of the company’s innovative Toronto restaurant properties — three Cibo Wine Bar locations, BlueBlood Steakhouse, Don Alfonso 1890 and Xango — to offer one-stop shopping online.

LEG’s president and CEO Nick Di Donato has pivoted his focus to better meet the needs of his long-standing clientele. To date, the hospitality giant has paved the path for the (now widely available) concepts of high-end home-meal delivery and curbside takeout at its properties, as well as the concept of in-restaurant market-essentials shopping, with the opening of Cibo Market at its Yonge and King West locations.

In this bold new step, LEG tackles the online grocery-delivery industry head-on.

“Cibomarket.com is the next innovation in the evolving world of hospitality to meet the changing needs of our customers, and one we’re very proud to introduce,” says Di Donato. “We’re the first to combine everything our restaurant patrons or customers may want or need in one easy-to-access place, and through technology, swiftly source and deliver the very best to their home. It’s a win-win for all.”

Its foray into e-commerce is expected to again shake-up the grocery industry status quo, in which online grocery shoppers often wait weeks for household deliveries, only to find quality an issue with fresh products purchased.

“With our new online service, we’re fully committed to offering only the very best, with the same exacting standards we’ve set for ourselves in our restaurant properties,” says Di Donato. “Only the leading purveyors and suppliers can meet our needs — and now we promise to deliver the same, quickly and safely, to our customer. It’s our mission to be the ultimate in the industry to continually meet — and surpass — the discerning needs of our guests.”

Initial deliveries will be available for north and west Toronto, with a plan to roll-out more extensively in the Greater Toronto Area.
