CALGARY — Mackenzie Ferguson of the St. Charles Golf & Country Club in Winnipeg won the gold medal and the Fulgence Charpentier Trophy at the 2015 La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Jeunes Chefs (Young Chefs) Competition held in Toronto on Oct. 16.
The national competition, open to cooks under the age of 27, welcomed seven competitors from across Canada who were given four hours to compose a menu and prepare a three-course meal for four diners. The silver medal was presented to Vancouver’s Stanley Wan from the Terminal City Club and the bronze medallist was Jonathan Pratecante from the National Art Centre in Ottawa.
Ferguson will represent Canada at the 2016 Concours International des Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs, in Manchester next September.
