VANCOUVER — Vancouver Magazine has released the results of its 2016 Restaurant Awards — naming Maenam Restaurant of the Year.
The Thai restaurant also took home a tidy collection of other honours including gold in Best Thai, silver in the Best Casual category and bronze in Best West Side.
For the 27th instalment of the awards, a panel of 18 expert judges acknowledged industry excellence and leadership in some 48 categories. Other Winners include:
Best New Restaurant – Royal Dinette
Best Upscale – Hawksworth
Best Casual – Ask for Luigi
Best Seafood – Blue Water Cafe
Best Food Cart – Vij’s Railway Express
Best Casual Chain – Kingyo
Beyond restaurants, the awards also recognized industry leaders including chef Hamid Salimian who received the Mentorship Award in recognition of his ongoing support and commitment to his students at Vancouver Community College, as well as his former colleagues.
