VAUGHAN, Ont. — Vaughan, Ont.’s Magnotta Winery Corporation is growing, with news it has bought the wine assets of Niagara, Ont.’s, Kittling Ridge Ltd. The deal means store licenses, wine listings, grape-grower agreements and the Kittling Ridge name and trademarks will transfer to Magnotta.

Already approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the deal will see the Kittling Ridge brand continue under the Magnotta portfolio, which now includes the former’s signature icewine, brandy and Vidal icewine products. “We are very pleased to have arrived at this agreement with Kittling Ridge,” said Rossana Magnotta, president and CEO, Magnotta. “Opening new retail locations in Ontario’s regulated wine industry is only possible through the acquisition of existing licenses. This purchase allows us to add new stores to our chain and build on our over 20-year retail success while evolving the Kittling Ridge brand.”

Magnotta’s new Ontario-based Kittling Ridge stores operate in Barrie, London, North York, Richmond Hill and Toronto and will become Magnotta stores during the next few years.
