MARKHAM, Ont. — Mary Brown’s Chicken & Taters is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and will kick off a national contest that includes grand-prize trips to St. John’s. The company is also planning an anniversary party in August.
Hadi Chahin, president and COO of Mary Brown’s, credited its franchise owners and operators for the brand’s longevity and its ‘Made-Fresh-From-Scratch’ approach as a point of difference from its competitors. “They’re at the heart of our brand and bring the brand to life in communities across Canada,” says Chahin. “[Going forward, we expect] more growth and more innovation…but we won’t lose sight of what makes Mary Brown’s special. A delicious handcrafted menu and genuine hospitality are who we are — and always will be.”
Leading up to this milestone, the company has undergone significant rebranding with a new logo and an update for Mary herself — the woman behind the recipe is integral to the brand. By 2020, Chahin says Mary Brown’s will surpass 200 locations nationally and is working on a number of new locations overseas.
