EDMONTON — Jon-Hameister Ries, a former Master Chef Canada and chef/owner of Meat City restaurant in Vancouver, has passed away at age 37.
Following seven seasons with The B.C. Lions football team and a Grey Cup win, Hameister-Ries pursued his dreams in the hospitality industry. He showcased his skills in the kitchen on the set of Master Chef Canada season 2, where he quickly became a fan favourite.
Hameister-Ries will be remembered fondly by friends, family and fans across the country for his tenacity and ambition both on the field and in the kitchen.
