OAK BROOK, Ill. — McDonald’s recently opened a concept in Sydney, Australia, dubbed The Corner by McCafé.

The Corner serves everything but traditional MacDonald’s fare, with items such as brown rice, eggplant salads, sandwiches, tofu, custom-crafted burgers and balsamic strawberry soda on the menu.

The re-branded McCafé comes shortly after McDonald’s announced it is undergoing marketing changes due to business decline in U.S. Markets, although there are no current plans to bring the Corner to the U.S.

“[The Corner is more of a] learning lab where we are testing completely new and different food and beverages never before seen in our restaurants,” Lisa Comb, spokeswoman for the Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonalds, is quoted as saying by USA Today. McDonald’s officials are hoping to learn and grow their brand from the new store.
