EDMONTON — McDonald’s Canada is preparing to host its second consecutive West Hiring Day Sept. 13, when the team expects to hire nearly 500 employees across the province.

“We want to build upon the great team we already have at our McDonald’s restaurants in Alberta, and West Hiring Day helps us attract new talent,” said Rob Chiasson, McDonald’s St. Albert owner/operator.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to get in front of potential applicants and show them that working at McDonald’s is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity for young people to grow and develop their skills.”

West Hiring Day is a one-day event held at participating restaurants in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This initiative follows the establishment of a National Hiring Day by McDonald’s Canada in 2011. In this round, job seekers can apply at the chain’s restaurants in Alberta and be selected for an on-the-spot interview for a variety of positions, including crew and manager posts. Those unable to apply in person can submit their applications at worksforme.ca.
