TORONTO — McGugan’s, an authentic-style Scottish tavern, recently opened on Gerrard St. in Toronto.

According to Toronto Life, the 258-seat restaurant is owned by Ted and Mary Koutsogiannopoulos and helmed by executive chef Bryan Burke. It features a main dining room, rooftop patio and backyard lounge.

The menu includes favourites such as grilled cheese with smoked cheddar, sliced pear and a side of tomato jam ($8.95), haggis balls ($5.95) and fish and chips ($14.95). The expansive drink menus focus on beer, wine and scotch, selected by manager and sommelier, Brian Michael.

The trio confirmed their next project to Toronto Life, an Italian concept called Aprile Bambina, which is set to open two doors down from McGugan’s.
