ENCINO, Calif. — The ink is just drying on U.S.-based yogurt chain Menchie’s development agreement with Yogurtworld Corporation, which is taking the reigns as the company’s first international Master Franchisor, with plans to open two locations in Toronto during the next few months.

“We are delighted to announce our relationship with Menchie’s, as well as the expansion of the franchise into Canada,” stated Michael Shneer, president of Yogurtworld Corporation. “This is a revolutionary concept as there is nothing like Menchie’s in the Canadian marketplace. We are confident that customers in Canada will embrace this unique business in the same way that the U.S. customers already have.”

With plans to introduce 100 new locations throughout Canada within the next four years, the first site is planed for Rutherford Marketplace on Bathurst Street in Vaughan, Ont. and is expected to open by September.

“We are thrilled to offer the Menchie’s experience throughout Canada,” said Amit Kleinberger, CEO of Menchie’s Group, Inc. “We have been flooded with inquiries from potential international franchisees that enjoyed Menchie’s while travelling through the U.S. and want to open locations in their own hometowns. Partnering with Yogurtworld Corporation will help us meet the growing demand for self-serve frozen yogurt.”

With customers in the driver’s seat, they are able to use 100 rotating yogurt flavours and more than 60 rotating toppings to create the ultimate snack, which is paid for by the ounce.
