CALGARY — Toronto’s Mill Street Brewery team has confirmed it will be opening a brewpub location in Calgary in 2016, reports Calgary Metro.
The new location — planned for the historic Costigan House — will be the brand’s fourth brewpub location and the first outside of Ontario.
“We’re super excited — it’s been years and years in the making,” said Steve Abrams, co-founder of Mill Street. “There was a lot of time and effort finding the right spot, and we missed a few opportunities, which was frustrating and challenging. We would have liked to have got in sooner.”
Mill Street has partnered with Calgary-based Creative Restaurants Group for the project, which will feature a full-scale brewery and three distinct dining spaces — including a ’50s-themed beer hall, a more upscale sit-down space and a brewmaster’s study where patrons can dine more intimately.
The new outpost is expected to open spring 2016. [metronews.ca]
