MONTREAL — Lesley Chesterman, a fine-dining critic and food columnist for the Montreal Gazette, released her list of the best 10 restaurants in Montreal for 2014.

At the top of her list is Bouillon Bilk, which opened in 2011. Chef François Nadon offers international fine-dining with items such as foie gras terrine and lobster salad gracing the menu. Les 400 Coups was another favourite, with chef Guillaume Cantin and pastry chef Brian Verstraten serving nouveau onion soup and guinea hen.

Other mentions include Salmigondis, which serves deer, scallops, veal, lobster and mackerel (at high prices); Shinji, where the signature dish is hand-crafted sushi by chef Shinji Nagai; Les Coudes sur la Table, a French-style restaurant; and Lawrence, which serves modern British cuisine.
