TORONTO — Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced yesterday that York Region, Halton Region, Durham Region, Hamilton and Niagara can move into Stage 2 as of this Friday. Windsor, Peel Region and Toronto remain the only Ontario regions still in Stage 1.
The move to Stage 2 means outdoor dining services at bars and restaurants, shopping malls, outdoor recreation facilities, hair and beauty salons, as well as barbershops, can re-open.
Ontario reported 181 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, with the majority in Toronto (85) and Peel Region (41). All other regions reported fewer than 10, including many with no new cases.
