MONTREAL — The MTY Food Group has announced the opening of its fast-casual restaurant, Tosto Quickfire Pizza Pasta, in Toronto’s financial district.
“As the rapidly growing segment of fast-casual dining continues to gain acceptance in Canada, MTY believes now is the time to raise the bar. By creating a fast-premium dining concept, Canadian consumers can experience a premium fine-dining product in a quick-service environment and at a reasonable price,” said Michael Lublin, brand VP of Montreal-based MTY.
Tosto Quickfire Pizza Pasta offers fresh, authentic Italian meals made with artisanal ingredients in an open-kitchen concept. The menu features brasato pasta with homemade rigatoni, braised beef, green pea, pecorino and ragu sauce ($14); a caprese sandwich topped with bocconcini, roma tomato, basil, balsamic glaze and herb oil ($9); and Margherita pizza with Romano pizza dough, crafted in-house bocconcini, mozzarella, basil and red sauce ( $7 for a single).
Offerings are paired with wines and beer. The menu is a collaboration between chef Nicholas Wong and MTY’s concept development team.
