ORLANDO, Fla. — First came the Doctorate of Foodservice awards and just a day later, on Feb. 11, The North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) handed out another accolade, recognizing Peter Nordell, president of The Edlund Company, with the 2011 NAFEM President’s Award.

The award, presented at The NAFEM Show held at the Orange County Convention Center in Florida, recognizes a non-elected volunteer who has donated his time and expertise to the betterment of the association.

“I’m pleased to present the 2011 President’s Award to Peter in recognition of his tireless work on behalf of NAFEM,” said Steven Follett, NAFEM president . “He has worn many NAFEM hats and contributed to a wide spectrum of programs and offerings in his 20-plus years as a member and volunteer. To this day, he continues to give his time and talent to NAFEM initiatives.”

Nordell’s contributions to the association include numerous committee assignments such as the Sales and Marketing Conference Planning Committee, the annual Meeting and Management Workshop, the Membership Screening Committee and a number of ad-hoc assignments. He served on the Board of Directors from 1997 to 2004.
