MONTREAL — Neapolitan Pizzeria No.900 has opened its first Ontario location.

The Montreal-based pizzeria, known as the go-to pizza spot in many neighbourhoods across Quebec and with one location in France, is certified by AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, The True Neapolitan Pizza Association), proving the pizzeria’s dedication to crafting authentic Neapolitan pizza.

Pizzeria No.900 is rolling out its first Ontario location in The Beaches, situated in eastern Toronto. The brand was drawn to the neighbourhood’s tight-knit community, reminiscent of its locations throughout Quebec. The restaurant boasts a 55-seat indoor dining space with a bar and a front patio in a prime location on Queen Street East. Guests can die in, grab a pizza to-go or order delivery from the comfort of their home.

No.900’s new Toronto location will stay true to its beloved menu, which includes a selection of white and red pizza offerings and other favourites such as charcuterie, mozzarella, burrata, and fresh salads. To pair with the Italian fare, No.900 carefully curates a variety of privately imported Italian wines from artisan winemakers who prioritize sustainable grape cultivation while respecting the environment.

To bring the No.900 brand to life in Toronto, esteemed award-winning chefs, No.900’s executive chef Mirko D’Agata and R&D chef Fiodar Huminski will personally train the team. The pair secured first and second-place honours at the 2023 International Pizza Challenge held in Atlantic City and won third place at the 2024 World Pizza Championship in Parma, Italy.

The brand’s commitment to sourcing high-quality ingredients translates directly into its recipes and pizza-making process. The dough is made using 00 flour with low proteins, which undergoes a 24-hour process before being baked in a hand-made Marra Forni pizza oven. With a playful nod to how a true Neapolitan pizza is prepared according to the rules of the art, No.900 took inspiration for its name from the AVPN rules of cooking a pizza at 900 degrees Fahrenheit for 90 seconds.

No.900 sources its unique selection of high-quality products from producers in Quebec, Ontario and Italy. One of its prized offerings is the organic Costa Amalfitana tomatoes, cultivated in nutrient-rich volcanic soil on the Mountain of Tramonti. For jarring, the tomatoes must have the skin intact as they are very delicate, along with low amounts of water, so they are concentrated in flavour. In a commitment to preservation, No.900 acquired land on the Amalfi Coast and donated it to a local university for agricultural students to learn and ensure the sustainable cultivation of these specific tomatoes. Along with the tomatoes, No.900 is committed to sustainable and organic sourcing for all its produce and meat whenever possible.
