GENEVA, Switzerland — Food-and-beverage company Nestlé has vowed to invest up to 2-billion Swiss Francs — the equivalent of CAD $2.69 billion — to sourcing more recycled plastics to package its products.

The company has vowed to make 100 per cent of its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025 and reduce its use of new plastics by one third over the same time period.

“No plastic should end up in landfill or as litter,” says Mark Schneider, CEO of Nestlé. “That’s why in addition to minimizing plastics use and collecting waste, we want to close the loop and make more plastics infinitely recyclable.”
