TORONTO — The superfood Freekeh is making waves at Aroma Espresso Bar, which is introducing a new summer salad inspired by the ancient whole grain.
Made from fire-roasted wheatberries, freekeh is high in protein, calcium and wholegrain fibre. “We’re excited to be among the few restaurants in Toronto featuring freekeh and the only fast-casual in town to offer this trendy and tasty super grain as part of our Savour Summer menu,” said Daniel Davidzon, manager of Marketing and Communications for Aroma Espresso Bar Canada. “Our mandate has always been to prepare fresh, hearty and wholesome meals rich in nutritional integrity. We look forward to our new Freekeh Salad satisfying the curiosity and hunger of our discerning customers.”
Aroma’s new Freekeh Salad includes black quinoa, sprouted brown rice with organic baby kale, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, pickles, red onions, parsley, za’atar spices, labneh cheese and house-made lemon and olive oil dressing ($7). It’s part of the new Savour Summer menu, beginning June 9.
