New Brunswick Moves to Yellow Level

FREDERICTON — New Brunswick recently moved forward with its COVID-19 response, upgrading the entire province to the updated Yellow Level.

“As we transition to Yellow level, we must still remain vigilant, especially with the presence of variants that can be transmitted more easily. It is still important to keep your circle of close contacts relatively small and continue to follow public-health advice,” says Dr. Jennifer Russell, Chief Medical Officer of Health.

Under the updated response level the following changes have been made:
• residents will be allowed to expand their household bubbles from 10 to 15 outside contacts and these groups are permitted to socialize together, including dining out at restaurants
• formal indoor gatherings will be permitted with an operational plan in place, as long as the venue is at 50-per-cent capacity or less and physical distance can be maintained
• formal and informal outdoor gatherings of 50 people or fewer will be permitted with physical distancing in place

Under Yellow-Level restrictions, restaurants must ensure guests are seated at all times during their visit, with the exception of entering, exiting and using the washroom. Gyms, fitness centres, spas and salons can operate under a COVID-19 operational plan.
