TORONTO — Celebrity chef Corbin Tomaszeski has been appointed executive chef at Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). He fills the spot left by Ted Corrado who has been appointed regional executive chef for Compass Leisure (a subsidiary of Compass Group Canada).

“We are pleased to welcome chef Corbin to our ROM foodservices team,” said Janet Carding, ROM director and CEO, of the new hire who will be responsible for C5 Restaurant Lounge, Food Studio Café and the museum’s catering services. “His creation of distinctive gastronomic experiences will make dining here a fundamental and enjoyable part of everybody’s ROM visit.”

Chef Tomaszeski’s new C5 menu features fresh-baked flatbread with seasonal toppings; a lobster BLT salad, with applewood-smoked bacon, crispy fried tomatoes, romaine hearts and tarragon dressing; classic pot pie, featuring free-range stewed chicken with Ontario root vegetables and potatoes; and, for dessert, an apple Tarte Tatin with vanilla and almond ice cream.

Corbin is the host of Dinner Party Wars, Restaurant Makeover and Crash My Kitchen on Food Network and HGTV Canada. He brings more than 20 years of experience from some of Canada’s finest restaurants, including Holt Renfrew Toronto.
