New McD’s Design Rolls Out in France

OAK BROOK, Ill — The first of seven new high-design McDonald’s restaurants is being tested in Villefranche-de-Lauragais, France, with six prototype locations in development, according to Fast Company.

Conceived by Paris-based designer Patrick Norguet, the new look is expected to re-establish the fast-food giant as a French family restaurant. “A mother can settle with her offspring at a table, order from a nearby terminal and wait for the meals to be brought to the table,” reads a description of the design in a company press release.

The decor includes a palette of white with bold accent colours, including the McDonald’s signature red and yellow, Italian-made metal chair and a gray ceramic floor.
