TORONTO — Toronto’s Liberty Entertainment Group plans to reinvigorate Casa Loma — the city’s historic castle — and add a steakhouse.
“We want to open a restaurant that will resonate with local families and the community,” Nick Di Donato, CEO is quoted as saying in Toronto Life. “The castle is viewed as a tourist attraction, not somewhere for Torontonians to visit.” Donato hopes to attract locals to the grounds to eat there regularly.
According to Post City magazine Liberty Group is investing $3 million in the project, upgrading the interior of the castle with smartphone apps, air conditioning and computers. It plans to add exhibits and convert Casa Loma’s underground tunnel into a museum. The unnamed steakhouse is set to open after renovations are completed.
Liberty Entertainment Group also owns Rosewater and Cibo Wine Bar.
