New Wendy’s CEO Looks Ahead

COLUMBUS, Ohio. — Emil Brolick, Wendy’s new CEO in the U.S., is hoping to repair the QSR’s brand image with vision, strategy and execution, according to an USA Today interview with the executive.

“The brand vision has not been there. There have been various versions, but it keeps changing. The consumer senses that this is a brand that lacks clarity,” Brolick is quoted as saying in the USA Today, while discussing the issues that need to be addressed.

Wendy’s has been struggling since the death of its founder Dave Thomas in 2002, running through six CEOs since 1995. And, while Brolick is confident he can transform the company, critics speculate as to whether the brand will be able to compete with market leaders.
