VANCOUVER ZoomerMedia’s new television series, Your Nation’s Table, is set to air nationwide with a season dedicated to six seafood stories in B.C. The series will air on Mondays on JoyTV BC starting Nov. 14 and Saturdays on FaithTV beginning Nov. 26.

Hosts Carmen Ruiz y Laza and chef Robert Clark will take viewers on a voyage through communities along the B.C. coastline, focusing on popular local seafood and its journey from sea to table. Each 30-minute episode will also focus on the vital role of the Canadian food economy. “What an honour, thrill, and amazing opportunity it is to introduce our food producers, supporters of our communities, and defenders of our food sovereignty into so many Canadian homes,” says chef Clark.

Your Nation’s Table was born from my experience shopping for sustainable local seafood. At my neighbourhood grocery store, the fishmonger told me they didn’t have locally caught wild B.C. salmon but had only imported and farmed fish. At that moment, I decided to do something about it,” says Ruiz y Laza. “By advocating for and giving a voice to our B.C. seafood producers, Your Nation’s Table aims to raise the profile of a valuable and often under-appreciated domestic food production system and steer consumers towards better tasting, more nutritional, and environmentally-friendly alternatives.”

The series’ sponsors range from Pacific Prawn Fishermen’s Association and CedarCreek Estate Winery to Ocean Regenerative Aquaculture.
