TRURO, N.S. — The former adjoining Red Bird Wine Bar and Wooden Hog restaurants on Prince Street in Truro, N.S. have been closed to make way for Nook and Cranny, an eatery and pub.

The menu may surprise some, but it’s going to reflect what the Truro community wants, owner Derek Forsyth told Truro Daily News. “We are going to have a specialty menu, it’s a very small menu on top of our big regular menu that will be focusing only on local suppliers.”

Offering 29 beers on tap, including 20 craft beers from the Maritimes, specialties include Baja Fish Tacos with two soft flour tortillas filled with haddock, lettuce, tomatoes, corn and beans topped with fresh lime, cilantro and house-made mango salsa ($12.25) as well as The Nookie Pizza made with bacon, ham, local pepperoni from Chris Brothers Meats, red onion and marbled cheese ($9.75).
