Bar and Lounge at Jade Yorkville

TORONTO — Toronto-based entrepreneur Reza Abedi is unveiling his most recent endeavour, Jade Yorkville. Now accepting reservations and officially open as of August 21, Jade is set to re-define the city’s culinary scene with a menu boasting a fusion of French-Asian dishes and innovative cocktails. Situated on Avenue Road amidst some of the city’s most notable restaurants, hotels and boutiques, Jade brings a unique experience to Toronto’s restaurant and bar scene.

Designed by Victoria Opacak of All in the Design, Jade welcomes guests into a setting where every element and detail reflects a cohesive vision. Featuring predominantly jade hues, floor-to-ceiling porcelain creates a monochromatic aesthetic spanning the entire restaurant and bar. Depth and dimension were introduced to the tone-on-tone space through deep green Italian marble wrapping entirely around the bar, and velvet booths with channelled upholstery add warmth to the stone-clad interior.

In addition to its wow-worthy design, Jade brings an integration of flavours to the scene, blending French elegance with Asian influences. Helmed by executive chef Hermawan Lay, the menu showcases a harmonious marriage of both cultures, featuring innovative à la carte dishes designed for sharing, perfect for gatherings with friends or date nights. Guests can look forward to menu highlights such as the Kaizen Toast, with foie gras and unagi, and the Corn Dog and Caviar, which is expected to be a crowd favourite. The Uni Bomb, featuring a duck tea egg, offers a one-of-a-kind flavour journey, while Jade’s Lobster Cocktail, an elevated take on the classic shrimp cocktail, promises to be an unforgettable treat. To end on a sweet note, indulge in a slice of Miso Cheesecake or Pandan Cake to satisfy every craving.

“We designed our dishes to be bold and rich, marrying the sophistication of French culinary style combined with the lively and bold flavours of Asia,” says Lay. “Our goal was to curate Jade’s menu to emulate the restaurant’s effortlessly cool and contemporary essence while maintaining a sense of refinement and elevation.”

Complementing the menu are a variety of signature hand-crafted cocktails, designed by beverage director and general manager Jake Dolgy, which present Asian-inspired flavours fused with French classics and modern influences. Guests can explore a selection of inventive cocktails, including the Lychee Fizz, crafted with Grey Goose vodka, refreshing lychee, St-Germain, Calpico, koji, umeboshi, and lemon, topped with Perrier for a sparkling finish. For those seeking a spirited and adventurous cocktail, try the Tokyo Godfather. This drink brings an intense aroma and sweetness, featuring Chivas Regal 12-year-old blended Scotch, miso, sherry, buckwheat, honey, shiitake and tamari. The beverage menu also offers a range of wines by the glass, with plans to expand as the menu evolves, and a curated assortment of beer and non-alcoholic options.
